The computational simulation of the reflection spectra of copper red glaze

Owing to the limitation of traditional analytical methods, coloration mechanism copper red glaze has been disputed in academic field for a long time, which mainly focuses on whether color agent is metallic nanoparticles or cuprous oxide (Cu 2 O) nanoparticles. Based Mie scattering theory, this work calculated reflection spectra uniformly dispersed transparent with different types, diameters, and volume fractions, then discussed differences between as scatterers, corresponding L*a*b* values, compared them experimental results. This provides feasible convenient method distinguish these two mechanisms.
